The One Thing you Can't Overlook in Your Faith

Hey friends! Today I just wanted to share a little something that I felt like God has been teaching me lately. It's about looking at the condition of your heart and how it reflects the love of Jesus. I hope you enjoy it!

Notes from the Video:

  • Everything in our faith boils down to this one thing: the condition and position of our heart

  • The heart is an area that is hard for others to keep us accountable to. That’s why it’s so important that we are constantly looking at ourselves and what’s going on inside of our hearts.

  • “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eye is healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light within you is darkness, how deep is that darkness! ' - Matthew 6:20-23

  • 'For this reason I kneel before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. ' Ephesians 3:14-19

  • We are called to be transformed into the image of Christ, so we should be doing everything we can to become more like him. That means looking at ourselves and allowing the Holy Spirit to sanctify us. Sanctification means that we will be convicted for our faults and failures— not to make us feel bad, but to allow God to help us become more like him by growing in those areas.

  • Working on the areas of your heart that aren’t Christ-like doesn’t have to be a complicated process. Just ask the Lord to show you things that you need to work on, give yourself grace, and spend time looking at the nature of Jesus. Ephesians is a great place to start if you aren’t sure where to go. :)
